Deck The Base

Description

History

Deck The Base is the second Bridgemas song to be released by the Foundation, on 2024-12-16. It is a Bridgianisation of the Christmas-carol Deck The Hall, and was used in 2024’s Bridgemas-celebrations.

Interestingly, it was released on the same day as another Bridgian song: Imsawn Bycbeys-sa.

Structure

Deck The Base is in the key of F major, and consists of a repeated set of four 4-bar phrases, each divided into two. It has two sung parts, although they sing in unison for the first section.

Lyrics

1. Deck the Base with planks a’ crashing; fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.

’Tis the season to be clashing; fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.

Don we now our Bridgian fashion; fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.

Troll the B’ryllians’ merry session; fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.

2. See the blazing Base before us; fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.

Sing with us and join the chorus; fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.

Follow us to th’west to plunder; fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.

Whilst Entékaí lies in slumber; fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
