Description

The Flank Entrance Tyre Wall was a tyre wall across the front entrance of Base ρ – Flank Base*. It was built on 2023-02-27, and was destroyed on 2023-03-15 (though a second iteration of sorts existed for an unknown time afterwards).

*It wasn't actually designated as a base back then, only becoming one with the 2023 Bridgeland Map – and even then with the old name of Flank Forest Base.

Precursors

A 'tyre fence' (with tyre towers connected by wood-beams) began construction across Base β's Front Entrance on 2022-11-25. However, it was never completed due to its length – it was to go across to the East Bight. It only reached two tyres high before being dismantled on 2022-11-29.

Again, in Base β, a 'door frame' (two tall tyre towers connected by a wood-beam) in the Front Entrance was constructed on 2022-11-29. Materials were acquired by dismantling the aforementioned fence; the door was knocked down on 2022-12-07.

Construction

The Flank Entrance Tyre Wall began construction on 2023-02-27*. It consisted of a row of tyre towers, with a gap for entry and exit. (This could be blocked by putting a vertical tyre in the way, so as to deter entry to the Base.)

*This is the first mention of 'the tyre wall for Flank Entrance' in the Bridge Base Log, though the entry said it was 'improved upon', implying some prior existence. However, no previous entries mention any tyre wall, or blockade of the 'front entrance'.

Gradual improvements to the Wall were be made until 2023-03-15, when the Beryllians destroyed it. However, it was rebuilt by the most unlikely of parties: Pete – who was the true Devious One (even though I've taken that title for myself), always annoying us and trying to impose fictitious 'rules' on us. Honestly, I could go on for hours explaining why he was so bad for the Base: there are Log entries relating to my plans to leave on the '31ˢᵗ of March', mostly due to Pete…

But in this case he helped, allowing us to make the first pyramid-style tyre wall in Bridgian history (after the first ever multi-tower wall was destroyed). This was then left after the Foundation's return to Base β (on 2023-03-20), being an important source of materials for a future Front Tyre Wall.
