Description

The Bridgehaven Treehouse was a wooden platform built atop the Bridgehaven Hollybush's collapsed section (which fell down in February 2022). It was first set up on 2022-05-11; it went through five iterations before being finally destroyed on 2024-01-17.

(There was a long time – between 2022-10-14 and 2023-10-19 – where the Bridgehaven Treehouse did not exist. The iterations of the Treehouse on either side of this divide are thought of as the 'early Treehouse' and the 'late Treehouse'.)

The Bridgehaven Treehouse is the longest-lasting Bridgian structure (at 244 days), excluding mines and small, forgotten constructions – the Compost Bin would easily beat it, if counted. That's even if measured by total time standing; the long interlude renders total time between start and end (616 days) as inaccurate.

Precursors

Dueltree Base (Base μ)'s western tree was often climbed in late 2020, though nothing was actually put atop it. A pallet, however, was used as a ladder, to help with accessing it.

A 'treehouse' was made by the Pestoral Group in eastern Deep Forest; though it was just a pallet supported by a few wood-beams. This was known as Base χ until the release of the 2023 Bridgeland Map.

First Iteration

The first iteration of the Bridgehaven Treehouse was constructed on 2022-05-11. Not much is known about the structure of the Treehouse – the Bridge Base Log (which called it a 'proto-base'), only describes it as a 'wooden structure'.

The only things that are mentioned are:

After the Pestoral Group (one of our two great enemies) chopped the small branches on the south of the collapsed section, the Treehouse's first iteration was dismantled on 2022-05-17.

An illustration of the Bridgehaven Treehoue as of 2022-06-22. Note the dashed line in the bottom of the image (labelled as 'log') – this is the fallen trunk.

Second Iteration

The second iteration of the Bridgehaven Treehouse was constructed on 2022-05-17. This was the longest-lasting iteration of the Treehouse (at 118 days), and of any Bridgian structure.

On 2022-05-20, an unstable 'ladder' of sorts (two wood-beams, with small pallets leaning against them) was installed on the side of the Treehouse. It would be improved four days later (with help from the Pestoral Group themselves), taking the ladder from their 'treehouse' (Base χ at the time).

However, it would be removed (again, by the Pestoral Group) on 2023-06-13. This started the practice of climbing around the east side of the Treehouse to get up (it had previously been accessed by crawling up the fallen trunk).

The Log mentions a tyre tower being used to support the branches of the Hollybush on 2023-06-29. However, it talks of its usage as a 'compost bin', not its construction. (The exact date of construction is, therefore, unknown.)

After numerous improvements across the previous time of the Treehouse, a major expansion – the 'Bridging the Gap' project – would be started on 2022-07-04. This involved extensions to the north-east, which were 'bridging the gap' across to an important lookout point. (A support beam was additionally required due to the branch's distance from the trunk.)

The table was finally put atop the second iteration on 2022-07-12. Three days later, the final expansion would be made to the Treehouse: the Branches area, between the 'north-west extension' and 'Bridging the Gap'.

After a long history of improvements, the Treehouse was dismantled on 2022-09-12. The white table was smashed into many small pieces, known as 'piano-key planks', due to their resemblence to the keys on a piano.

Third Iteration

The third iteration of the Bridgehaven Treehouse started construction on 2022-09-13 – the second took a whole day to take down. It would be completed just two days later, though Bridging the Gap and Branches never made it into the third iteration.

On 2022-09-20, a pallet was put between two low side-branches south of the Treehouse – this would become known as the New Pallet. One day later, a beam would be put to support the trunk, just in case it 'came loose from its base'.

The first of two Beryllian raids occured on 2022-09-27, destroying much of the north-western Treehouse. Another would hit two days later; however, this one did not destroy much.

After repairs were made throughout early October, the Beryllians struck again. This time (on 2022-10-14), they destroyed almost the entire Treehouse; we dismantled the rest.

This event, known as the Fall of Bridgehaven, would lead the Foundation to move to Base β, leaving its historical homeland of Edge Forest.

Fourth Iteration

The fourth iteration of the Bridgehaven Treehouse was constructed on 2023-10-19, just over a year after the third's collapse. (This marks the start of the 'late Treehouse', as opposed to the previous 'early Treehouse' iterations.)

Gradual improvements would be made to it (not much is said about these in the Bridge Base Log), until 2023-11-29, when it was dismantled.

The only information available on the structure of the Treehouse. The text gives no specifics either.

Fifth Iteration

The fifth iteration of the Bridgehaven Treehouse was constructed on 2023-11-30. Again, documentation is poor in the Log, but it was presumably an improved version of the fourth iteration.

An important feature, which would be added on 2023-12-04 and replaced with the Treehouse Canopy on 2024-01-05, is a metal wire-frame, which was put on the Treehouse's western side as a 'wall'.

The Treehouse would eventually be destroyed by internal factors on 2024-01-17.

There was also a small 'sixth iteration', which was set up just before the Foundation's (second) return to Base β. This would become a source of materials for the new Base, being gradually taken down in the process.
